Electronics Recycling & Hard Drive Destruction FAQ
Answers to common questions about e-waste pickup, electronics recycling, and on-site hard drive destruction for businesses in Toronto & the GTA.
Does Recycle Bridge offer electronics recycling in Toronto?
Yes. Recycle Bridge provides electronics recycling and e-waste pickup for businesses across Toronto and the GTA, including Toronto, Brampton, and Mississauga. We collect old computers, servers, monitors, and office tech, prioritize reuse and refurbishment over shredding, and provide an official receipt for every pickup.
Is e-waste pickup really free?
Yes — for most loads. Pickup is completely free anywhere in the GTA for any total load up to 150 lbs, with no distance restrictions. If your total pickup weighs more than 150 lbs, we charge a simple logistics fee of $0.75 per pound over that limit. Heavy single items — such as office printers, copiers, or TVs weighing more than 35 lbs each — are charged $0.75 per pound on the portion of that item’s weight above 35 lbs, regardless of total load size.
What areas does Recycle Bridge serve?
We serve businesses across the entire GTA, including Toronto, Brampton, and Mississauga, with no distance restrictions. Free pickup for loads up to 150 lbs total is available anywhere in our GTA service area.
What items can I recycle with Recycle Bridge?
We accept laptops, tablets, phones, monitors, cables, and general office electronics. Pickup is completely free for any total load up to 150 lbs, anywhere in the GTA. For larger loads, a transparent fee of $0.75 per pound applies over 150 lbs total, and any single item over 35 lbs — such as a printer, copier, or TV — is charged $0.75 per pound on its weight above 35 lbs.
Does Recycle Bridge offer hard drive destruction in Toronto?
Yes. We perform on-site hard drive destruction using mechanical crushing, plus certified data wiping for hard drives and SSDs on request. Destruction happens at your location, so sensitive data never leaves your premises intact.
How much does hard drive destruction cost?
An on-site visit carries a $75 dispatch fee, which includes crushing your first hard drive for free. Additional drives are $15 each.
Will I get proof that my data was destroyed?
Yes. A formal Certificate of Destruction is available on request for every hard drive destruction or data wiping service.
Is Recycle Bridge a registered recycler?
Yes. Recycle Bridge is registered with Ontario’s Resource Productivity & Recovery Authority (RPRA), the provincial body overseeing electronics recycling and end-of-life obligations in Ontario.
Do you offer IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) for corporate clients?
Yes. Our Corporate IT Asset Disposition service manages retired IT assets end-to-end — inventory, data sanitization, resale, recycling, and reporting — billed at $45/hour.
What happens to my old electronics after pickup?
We prioritize refurbishing and reusing devices whenever possible instead of shredding them immediately. Only equipment that cannot be reused is responsibly recycled.
